An album based on an essay written about a John Lennon song? Only post-prog poets Dredg could pull off such a cerebral concept without spilling too far over the artsy edge. The band's upcoming album deals with the issue of an ever-growing world population and the kind of planet tomorrow's citizens will inherit. Musically, singer Gavin Hayes calls it all over the map. 'It's a nice blend of our whole career,' says Hayes. 'We went to three different studios in the Bay Area and we're using a lot of different instrumentation.' So is Dredg's new direction erudite or entertaining? 'It's a good mix of the two,' promises Hayes. [OLC]

Dredg es una d mis bandas preferidas, tengo muchas ganas d escuchar lo nuevo... pero a la vez tengo la sensación d q m va a decepcionar, no sé pq. Como al final m guste será doblemente ilusionante: pq m encante y pq realmente no m lo espere.
El hecho d q dude del álbum es q al hacerse más "grandes" opten por un sonido un poco más "comercial" y convencional. Quizás será q a las bandas q t molan d verdad siempre les exiges un plus...

Friday, December 12th
All of the tracking for our new album is complete and it is currently being mixed by the wonderful and handsome Matt Radosevich. We are still on pace for an early spring release. Touring will precede the release sometime most likely in early March. All of the dates and other tour information will posted as soon as they are booked. The Leaflet #17 is now showing and our new merchandise store is finally back up and functioning again.
